Memory Box is a video that experiments the arrangement of time, intercutting between several timelines without clear indications. The work was mainly inspired by a poem, which is showed on the right, of David Barker. When I saw the poem, it made me think about the relations between elements, how letters repeat itself in the word structure. Therefore, I like to create a video that repeats its elements across the timeline. In the video, audience have to sort out and make links based on elements to find mean. However, hints were places to help the audience. For instance, the directions of the actor imply the periods of time. Though the video is a bit difficult to understand for first-time viewers, it is not clueless. Aiming for a more complicated way of storytelling, I want to create something that requires observation and thinking, bringing a more active viewing experience to the audience.
